Welcome to Soester Allerheiligenkirmes - Europe`s biggest Downtown Funfair Event

Where the evening sky is etched in brilliant colours

"The Big Pond", actually a term used for the ocean between the old world and the new, is to be found in miniature in Soest. But if you include the skies above it becomes huge. The people of Soest did this year in and year out on the Friday evening of the All Saints' Fair. A brilliant fireworks display was held behind the Big Pond which elicited gasps of delight and surprise from the thousands of spectators. This fireworks display still takes place today - at the same time but at a different location. Punctually at 8 p.m. the music falls silent and all lights are extinguished when the first fireworks are sighted to the city centre.

Golden rain descends from the skies, cascades of colourful fountains soar ever upwards, huge sparkling balls glitter and glisten making the stars turn pale with envy. Swishing and whizzing, cracking and banging accompanied by spontaneous applause create a superb, infectious atmosphere.
